Irving Korwin is the son of eastern
European immigrants who
arrived in the United States through Ellis Island. Born in August, 1920
in the Bronx, New York, he was raised during the Great Depression and
entered World War II as an enlisted soldier right after he heard the
Japanese bombed Pearl Harbor. His is a rags-to-riches tale emblematic of
America and The Greatest Generation.
Here is the first-hand story of a 97-year-old survivor of that

the personal reminiscences he managed to capture in this, his first

Completed in 2018 at age 97.
Korwin served with top-secret clearance, training pilots and
military VIPs at a discreet Army Air Force base in Florida in the use of
RADAR and RADAR countermeasures. The project was so hush-hush at the
time that the word RADAR couldn’t be mentioned publicly. In both
European and Pacific theaters, RADAR was credited with serving a pivotal
role in the success of the allied forces. It allowed us to see the
enemy over the horizon, a view they didn’t even know we had. Here is
the
first-hand story of a 97-year-old survivor of that piece of history,
his world travels, the jewelry business he built and the personal
reminiscences he managed to capture in this, his first book.
Includes an extensive photo section of his days during the
depression, his time during the war here and abroad, the business he
built beginning in a shop he described as “medieval,” (with a
photo),
his extended family as a record dating back c. 1900, right up to a
heart-warming image of him, at 97, holding his fourth great grandchild
less than one day old. There is nothing else like this.

* Alan says: “I promised myself I would not write Dad’s book
(a
constant temptation), just help him get it finished and produced, and I
kept that promise. He basically objected, which is his style anyway, to
suggestions I made if they had a material effect, even down to the cover
design
(though he did yield there some, so it would look nice, I think I won
that one, do you?). We went from verbal files typed up by his friend in
Florida -- in all capitals -- in rough sequence, to a reasonably
organized, missing-pieces added, coherent and revealing story of a long
life, the depression, his role in World War II, later entrepreneurial
success and perspective on life after all that. The project took more
than two years to complete.”

National Debt Hoax?
“Our
national debt is something shocking. Over one billion dollars a year!
What this country needs is a businessman for president!” from the
movie
“Stagecoach” with John Wayne, 1939
I recall as a
child, hearing a
radio newscast, back when news was news, with the exact same message,
except for the number. It was $60 billion. Unfathomably large. 60
thousand million, I tried to grasp it. We’re doomed.
Looking
at
this from high up in an alien spacecraft, the national debt is of course
invisible. All you see is the puny aliens (us) scrambling around, doing
our thing. Cutting trees, growing plants, digging, building, eating.
You can’t see the accounting ledger entries. We live on make-believe
numbers, fooling ourselves, spending beyond our bookkeeping, and it’s
all good. A billion over “budget” in 1939, OMG! Sixty billion
in the
1960s, prosperity and abundance as never been seen before! Look at us
now! Question: has the deficit been a scam all this
time?

happening, 90% of all worry would evaporate, and your life would
improve.”

||||
ALAN, DO YOU SUPPORT THIS?
Here’s what
really happens
For all the talk about anti-gun or pro-gun this and
that, until I see a bill I’m on the fence -- have to be -- as any
thinking person must. That lets out pretty much all of TV’s talking
heads. The anti-rights people can say they want to ban, for example, slide
stocks, but when you finally see ten pages of proposed law, it typically
has little to do with public statements. Same for the pro-rights bills too
often (and their last-minute poison pills). This is where real opposition
to the plans come from, the actual horrific plans, not just the faulty
concepts proposed to the masses.
A slide-stock ban will do nothing
to protect schools, or Las Vegas, every insider knows this, but democrats
and the media just play along with the charade. Some republicans feel
forced, or manipulated, or extorted into acquiescing, knowing full well
they are accomplishing nothing but caving. Now they’re doing it to
stop the loud children from annoying them, not because the problem is
getting solved. It just gets back the quiet. [Note to self: Everyone has
stopped talking about the Vegas investigation, it's radio silence over
there, haven't they found out anything yet? Security camera footage?
Nothing?]
||||
CHARITY
I believe it’s important to pitch in,
at least a little, more when possible.
There are already plenty of
people donating to care for the needy.
Donate to groups that defend
liberty. They have needs to, and are worthy.
Make a list of ten or so,
pick a few, it’s good.
||||
DACA AND THE RULE OF LAW
It’s important to
keep in mind DACA (deferred action for child arrivals) is illegal from the
start. Debates over whether to keep it or not are non-starters. It is
corrupt, illegal, invalid, null and void.
It was enacted without
legitimate power, by presidential fiat, without needed authority from
Congress. After the president usurped power (that’s the right word)
to do it, Congress acquiesced, relinquishing their delegated duty,
perpetuating the lawlessness of the person in the White
House.
Congress earned removal from office for this virtually
treasonous act. They were elected to defend the Constitution, and they
didn’t fail, they refused. We’re not even touching whether the
person in the White House, acting with no authority whatsoever, was even
legitimately there, a separate controversy entirely, now on a back burner
for history to address. His Kenyan father’s heritage is unquestioned.
Had his father been North Korean, Iranian or Saudi Arabian, that question
would have been unavoidable, along with the nuclear codes. McCain endured
Senate hearings on the question for hours, which were ended before the
other candidate was examined. https://www.gunlaws.com/Should%20We%20Elect%20An%20American%20President.htm

“RED SPARROW” WILL HURT
YOU
This is not a movie review, it’s a wake-up
call
One of my bandmates in The Cartridge Family Band
https://www.gunlaws.com/CFB-BandInfo.htm won’t go to movies because of
who produces them, and I fully understand that. Me, I go to a lot of films,
often with the other band member. I don’t do movie reviews as The
Uninvited Ombudsman, but this movie deserves a mention. I recently saw Red
Sparrow. It was unsettling.
Somehow, Hollywood dealt with Russia
and communism as a serious threat. This fact has been hidden from the
American public for a long time. The brutal, horrifying nature of
communism, the Russian threat, the inhuman tactics, the lengths to which a
godless immoral lawless society will go to rule is so well portrayed in
this movie, it’s a wonder it is seeing the light of day.
I
can’t recommend seeing it, because it will scar you. Hollywood
doesn’t have to skin people alive to make its point, or maybe it
does. Actually, it’s been doing that for years, come to think of it.
This one just puts the skinner in the commie’s hand, an eager hot
blonde who seduces men so they can be destroyed.
Is Hollywood
telling us to wake up? Stop eating our own and start recognizing the true
enemy? Stop fighting to disarm ourselves and see the insanely armed
adversary poised to strike just a missile strike and a landing force away?
Or is the fifth column already here eating out our
substance...

1- Gloves Are
Off—It’s a Gun-Ban Movement
Marchers, Politicians, Media,
No Longer Playing Pretend
But: Infringement Is Illegal
by
Alan Korwin
Calls
to outlaw guns, gun possession, accessories
and similar wild-eyed notions now percolating through a portion of our
youth and
culture are... illegal.
So called “news” media, involved in whipping up the public and
unsuspecting
youngsters into a frenzy to ban gun types, gun parts, all guns, and places
where people can have guns for all legal purposes -- like defense against
murderers -- are an affront to our society and our Constitution. When did
teachers lose their right to keep and bear arms exactly? The guarantees of
The
U.S. Bill of Rights can just be... lost?
People are saying the horrific events of the recent past could never have
happened if our rights weren’t somehow squelched in the first
place.
Unless you decide to give up on the rule of law, and simply enact anything
by
mob rule, guns can’t simply be banned, as television is campaigning
for. People
could begin a new country based on utopian socialist rule with no
leadership,
no charter, and the will of the people simply expressed day-to-day by vote,
that’s
conceivable. But America cannot legitimately ban guns already in the
public’s
hands by passing laws, to appease loud children.
We get that the kids are scared, and should be, they’ve been let
down. That
doesn’t erase the rule of law.
If stopping crazed, psychotic mass murderers who take it on themselves to
spree
murder their classmates is the goal, that’s a good goal.
Loud youngsters who think disarming the public will somehow accomplish that
goal
are not mature enough to understand that first, -- it won’t work, and
second,
the adults egging them on in the media and politics are manipulative SOBs
worse
than their worst parents.
Those adults are using what amounts to a national tantrum to accomplish
the
adults’ goal -- not the children’s goal. The so-called
“news” media has
disguised or totally hidden this revealing truth. Journalists have become
virtually as much an enemy of the nation’s health as the murderers
themselves.
That’s a hard thing to say, as a journalist myself.
Here’s a secret. Everyone wants
to stop
sociopathic students from murdering their classmates at school. It
shouldn’t be a secret. The hated NRA wants to stop that. Do you
really think
they’re devils who want their own kids at that kind of risk? If you
do, you’ve
been sold a bill of goods. Remember the secret -- Everyone wants to stop sociopathic
students from murdering their
classmates at school.
Here’s the bottom line. Banning a firearm a person already owns is
infringement, simply by definition. Doing that is banned in America,
it’s why
we’re the linchpin of freedom on the planet. It’s why oppressed
masses flock
here, and always have, though schools no longer teach this. They used to,
when
America was at its peak.
Attempting to take such a firearm away -- government confiscation of the
public’s guns is aggravated
infringement,
felony-level criminal activity. It is exactly what government cannot
legitimately
do. It’s where peaceful rule of law ends and tyranny begins:
gun-taking. Gun-taking
kindles revolts, around the world, and if it goes too far, it could happen
here. Disarming the innocent doesn’t set well with the innocent. The
reverse is
true too -- you can’t arm slaves and expect them to remain
slaves.
State by state, we are going to see an effort to put aggravated
infringement
into statute so offending officials can be charged and imprisoned if they
attempt to infringe on this fundamental constitutional right. Banning guns
is
on the same par as banning gays, blacks, speech, Bibles -- you just
can’t do
that here.
It doesn’t matter how many votes you can manipulate or cajole with
phony logic.
“Majority rules, minority protected,” you remember that, right?
It means you
can’t strip the Bill of Rights with a legislative vote.
People who do so or attempt to do so need to be subject to defined
penalties.
Like any other civil and human rights violation. We actually have 18 USC §241,
and 18 USC
§242 for this, they
just need
some backup, and enforcement (q.v., denial of constitutional or statutory
rights is a crime). Read those short, crystalline statutes.
The noise level is rising to a dangerous pitch. Attempting to disarm the
public
is what has, throughout history, led to either revolution or genocide.
Americans want neither. The loud children want neither either, they just
don’t
know it. They know not what they do, and their handlers are keeping them
quietly in the dark.
The Andersons and Wolves are incomprehensibly keeping them ignorant, and
maybe
they are themselves. I’m reluctant to join my colleagues who see it
for an evil
agenda, and the markings could easily be read that way. At the least the
mass
media culprits should lose their licenses to broadcast. Oh, that’s
right—they
are unlicensed operators.
Banning guns already in the public’s hands is infringement. Attempting
to take an infringed item is aggravated infringement. Attempting to take
an
infringed item is where chilling phrases like, “Bullets first!”
and “From my
cold dead fingers!” arise. This country does not want to go there.
Someone tell
the kids.
Take time to kick back and absorb some freedom
perspective.
Widely considered one of the finest libertarian novels
ever written. The U.S. Government is broke and unraveling, America’s enemies are
gloating, money is worthless, markets collapse, businesses fail, a
massive shift in economics is reshaping the nation. Black marketeers use
computer encryption to operate bold enterprises that even totalitarian
controls can’t stop. A private mercenary army headed by a former
Green
Beret battles an FBI run by a ruthless dictator who’s blackmailing
the
president and running secret prisons.
Caught in the middle is the brilliant teenage
son of a
Nobel-prize winning economist and the mysterious girl (who carries a
pistol with a silencer!) he meets in a secret underground city. A
Prometheus winner Hall-Of-Fame novel with high adventure, narrow escapes,
thrilling rescues, and a model for throwing off the chains of oppression
and restoring freedom. Reignites a sense of true liberty that has been
dulled by the incremental infringements we endure daily.
Uplifting.
2- It Makes Sense the Left Is
Using Children Why should anyone be surprised?
Darling little kids are motivational, it’s all that matters
The lamestream media told you:
The lamestream media told you:
[Quote some “news” story about one of the children being
bandied around as a
news commentator, hogging spotlight. Actually, quote several, now known as survivors, which describes anyone at school that day, according to
leading
experts. Use the well-spoken one, the one from drama class, who says he
can’t
act (cue laughter). Too many people don’t know he was a drama
student. He’s
really good on live TV.]
“It should not be harder for me to
get this girl in
fourth period to call me back than it is to get an AR-15,” Cameron
Kasky told Time Wednesday. This
is how a drama
teenager speaks?
The teenager doesn’t seem aware that if your rights are intact and
you’re not
disqualified for good reason, of course you can exercise your rights. The
reporter didn’t ask.
Why the fourth period girl won’t call him back was also left
unanswered, though
leading experts believe that may be due to his personality, and may change
after the national exposure. She may have avoided him for other good
reason,
but this was unknown at press time (“news” technique for
planting spurious ideas in readers’
minds).
Time continues: “As the
students’
movement gains visibility, they have faced backlash from bots and trolls
who
spread conspiracy theories about them and accuse them of being
‘crisis actors.’”
The report doesn’t support the slur, and says the kids just laugh it
off. “You
should have seen me in Fiddler on the Roof,” Kasky says.
“Who the hell
would pay me to act?”
“The labor and socialist movements had youth affiliates going back to
the
beginning of the century,” according to a history professor quoted in
the
article, revealing more than perhaps the socialists would prefer, for
reasons
that were unclear at press time. Hundreds of similar articles have flooded
the
web, TV and print. Radio has had a tougher time getting these new
spokespeople
on.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The political left, a polite name for socialists, are using children with
no
actual credentials to be spokespeople in the gun debate, because
progressives
are trying to appeal to their base. Using children works, to their
side.
It doesn’t matter that the kids are uninformed. This technique pulls
at
heartstrings. It is motivational. To the “useful idiots”
(Vladimir Lenin’s
term), people who follow the leader without thinking through on issues will
be
swayed and motivated by this technique. Of course the left uses
children.
The only surprise is that republicans, conservatives (not the same thing),
independents, libertarians, nonaligneds, even the reporters and
editorialists
who can still think and still have a platform, are surprised. What do you
expect? The left should use reason, logic, facts? That’s not what
they do. That doesn't work on them.
It would be a tactical and strategic error for leftists to do differently.
They
have to rally their troops. They have to use techniques that work.
That’s why
CNN, MSNBC, ABC, NBC, CBS, USA Today, AP and the rest look the way they
do.
Journalism per se has been dead
for a
long while. Note: Human beings, along with “bots and trolls”
observed the
children were being used by sophisticated propagandists. The kids
activities
and printing were also being funded with huge sums, estimated to be in the
millions, another “astroturf” movement. Countless buses, room
and board have
been provided to organize the spontaneous marches staged nationwide, as if
spontaneously.
Eye witnesses in D.C filmed and reported the uncoordinated youth march was
90%
adults. Cash was prepared and stapled together to give to school kid groups
for
buying lunch. media reports were phony, fake, saturation which itself
should
tell you something, and balance, there wasn’t any.
EMERGENCY A liberal's view of surviving
almost anything NY Times best-selling author Neil
Strauss, 418 p., $9.99
A survival guide from the left -- unlike any survival book you
have seen. The author includes things you have never even considered. It
turns out liberals fear a world collapse just like everyone, maybe
more. Financial upheaval, interruption of food, water or power supply,
superbugs, muslims, nukes, martial law, it's a long list -- and here is a
very fresh perspective -- how to survive and thrive with a left-wing
slant. You're not adequately prepared if you don't look
through this window into another world. Includes living tax-free,
turning a credit card into a knife, death cults, asset protection,
evading snipers, bikes of the apocalypse (gotta love it!), escaped-felon
secrets, much more.

KILLER RAMPAGE By Chris Bird, 408 p. #SAMK $22.95
One of the top writers in the field today challenges
you to survive, armed or not, shows you how ordinary people fought
back
against mass murderers and won. Police arrive too late—it’s up
to
you—thrilling, detailed descriptions of what actually happened, guns
used, shots fired, the stuff “news” reports never include Bird
has found and
revealed, totally exciting and illuminating, police and civilian
actions and bloody results. Remember: gun-free zones aren’t.

3- Is Science Over?
A funny thing happened on the way to Science
Newsiness
The lamestream media told you:
The lamestream media told you:
Nothing, but do notice:
I’ve been reading Science
News, a
formerly fine science magazine since childhood.
It has become a nouveau tabloid with “we thought we were right but
now we
really know” dominating stories that used to report on the world of
scientific
discovery and advancement. Editorship was just assumed by a former PBS
employee. What affect might that have, I wonder, none?
The cover used to say The Weekly Newsmagazine of Science, it is now Society
for
Science & the Public, with other changes to its description. The material
is getting so vapid it's becoming hard to endure. Some employed scientists
actually tested whether you can blow on dropped food to see if the 5-second
rule is real, and this got reported.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Can you spot any patterns in the stories appearing in the current issue of Science News, by Nancy, Lisa,
Carolyn, Aimee,
Tina, Susan, Aimee, Laurel, Carolyn, Carolyn, Emily, Laurel, Maria, Maria,
Emily, Laura, Laurel, Carolyn, Ashley, Carolyn... Dan and Bruce.
Some topics: Bogs on the Brink (carbon stores); Discussing what matters
when
facts are not enough (new editor’s comment); Fresh water maxed out
on
phosphorous; Lent story debunked; Penguins can track Antarctic changes;
Hunting
threatens orangutans; Too much sugar; Consumer goods pollute urban air;
Americans might welcome space aliens; New mother depression gets
attention...
just the first half. OK, there were stories about the cosmos, anti-matter,
biology,
a little more, but puhleeeze.
The new editor’s opening editorial is almost a screed against
questioning
established scientific consensus. “When people challenge the
scientific
consensus on issues (she names three) it’s no surprise that one of
the first
inclinations of journalists and scientists has been to think, hey, these
doubters just don’t know the facts.” Give them more data and
they’ll get it she
explains.
“But there’s considerable evidence that more data isn’t
better when it comes to
science skeptics,” editor Nancy Shute says. She denigrates the effort
of
skeptics to build a case using facts. The bubble-centric ivory-tower hubris
is stunning.
I plan to keep my subscription for a while, but it looks like I may need a

The socialist left and the lamestream media seems totally unaware that the

Congrats to NRA experts on a tremendous plan for the schools -- the left
would
have to show blatant hypocrisy and self-defeating behavior to turn this
down.
Schools need this, it can only help. The left may be inclined to fight it,
solely
because of its eminently qualified source, which would be an utter and dangerous shame. I'll be
promoting it, for all
the right reasons.
The National School Shield program seeks to identify and apply “best
practices
in security infrastructure, technology, personnel, training, and policy.
Through this multidimensional effort, National School
Shield® seeks
to engage communities and empower leaders to help make our schools more
secure.”
It includes a, “comprehensive vulnerability assessment. These
assessments
provide an all-inclusive approach to analyzing a school’s climate,
physical
security, communications systems, and overall preparedness.”
The program doesn’t take place in a vacuum. It “seeks to
facilitate a
partnership between schools and local stakeholders in a shared commitment
to
more secure schools.”

BY FORCE OF
PATRIOTS By Cameron Reddy 520 pgs. #BFO $17.95
How about a nice shoot 'em up where our
side wins... In a world flipped upside down by
liberals and political correctness, all three branches of federal
government assert unknown levels of coercive power until fed up
Americans rise up to take back their country. More than a tale of
oppression and rebellion, it examines how America strayed from its
roots, with intriguing, colorful characters who grapple with the social,
political and legal issues at the heart of America’s difficulties.
Raw,
provocative, not for the faint of heart.

5- Anti-Rights Groups "Out" Themselves
It was always about taking guns
away
The lamestream media told you:
The lamestream media told you:
The Brady Center, Everytown, Action Moms, Bloomberg -- none of these forces
aligned
on the left, each seeking more and better common-sense gun control, have
any
intention or plan to take away anyone’s guns. We’ve been
telling you this over
and over, why don’t you believe us.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Oregon has just introduced Initiative 43 (was I-42) which if passed would
require government confiscation of personally owned guns, without
compensation,
under penalty of felony arrest and conviction.
Current owners could turn them in, destroy them, get them out of the state
or
sell them before the brief deadline to avoid arrest. Being caught with one
without state police registration would be a felony.
The law is flawed on so many levels it’s hard to imagine it will
withstand
court challenge, but some the liberal courts in that neck of the woods are
challenged themselves. The very thought that such a proposal could see the
light of day is shocking in an American society, proving the rule of law
no
longer holds sway with a significant portion of the public. Infringement,
outlawing firearms legally owned by American citizens, is prohibited by
the
Constitution.
This ploy comes from the left, a cadre calling itself the interfaith religious group.
Misguided angry pacifists have long
been a force to be reckoned with. For contrast, imagine giving credence to
some
similarly unconstitutional petition, like gathering signatures to ban
printing
an unpopular version of the Bible. It simply would not be tolerated here.
Or
didn’t used to be.
Banning firearms and accessories people already legally own is infringement
by
definition, and constitutionally banned. (It’s also ex post facto, strictly banned, and
property confiscation, strictly
banned.) Attempting to take away an infringed item from its rightful owner
is aggravatedinfringement, felony behavior. Now
there’s a petition the people of
Oregon ought to float. https://www.gunlaws.com/AmericanProtectionOfArmsDeclaration.htm
The group has until July 6 to get 88,000 valid signatures to put the
measure on
the ballot. With the flood of expensive publicity being provided free by
the
“news” media, it’s probably an attainable goal, according
to leading experts.
The ban and confiscation covers any semi-auto pistol, rifle or shotgun,
with a
removable magazine if it can take more than ten rounds, and has a grip
(that’s
what it says). These would all be named “assault weapons.” The
magazines are
banned too. Everything becomes contraband.

Dan Nowicki
(Phoenix) There
still is no timetable for U.S. Sen. John McCain to return to Washington,
D.C.,
but his daughter on Tuesday floated the possibility of summer.
“I wish I had an exact date, but I just don’t,” Meghan
McCain told Phoenix radio station KTAR-FM (92.3).
"I am very cautiously optimistic about the summer, yes.”
Cindy McCain tweeted that her husband "is doing fine and has no intention
of resigning!"
Meghan McCain likewise definitively dubbed the report, which had gotten
some
traction on social media, "FAKE NEWS."
While
not giving interviews to the media, the elder McCain has continued to
issue
written statements from Arizona and remains active on Twitter.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Senator McCain, deathly ill with aggressive brain cancer, is not
representing
Arizona in public or in Congress, where you must be present to vote and
participate. He is getting therapy at his cabin in Cornville, Ariz., and
in
hospitals, with the hoped for January return date come and gone. His
daughter
has appeared for and spoken for him more than once and on a local radio
interview. His wife has also appeared on his behalf, which reporters just
take
in stride. Written statements attributed to the senator are being issued
but he
has not given any interviews in person.
In a published report, a local journalist covered a number of subjects but
noticeably omitted the fact that McCain is not representing his state,
leaving
Arizona one vote short in the U.S. Senate. Arizona’s other senator,
Jeff Flake,
has the appearance lately of a non-Republican, angering many of the
state’s
constituents.
Dan Nowicki, the reporter, said McCain’s daughter Meghan, and her
mother, “last
week helped shoot down (sic) a dubious online report anticipating
McCain’s
resignation for health reasons.” He did not say why the report was
“dubious.”
He did later quote the senator’s wife Cindy saying McCain is doing
fine and he
has no intention of resigning. The daughter claimed the report was
“fake news”
without elaborating. Why McCain will not be representing the state, or will
be
living in Cornville for six months if he is “doing fine” was
unexplained, or
perhaps unexplainable.
Nowicki failed to respond to repeated requests for explanation of the
“dubious”
reports about McCain resigning, or how the Senator is fulfilling his
obligations as an Arizona Senator, staying bedridden in Cornville with a
condition medical experts generally refer to as incurable.

7- Everyone Backs
Speech Ban, the Idiots
The lamestream media told you:
The lamestream media told you:
Government must ban texting while driving. It’s just too dangerous.
Almost all
states now do. The few stragglers must get with the program. Lives are at
stake. How can you possibly be against this? We’re the media, we know
what’s
right for you.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Pressure is on to get all states to outlaw texting while driving. Only
Arizona,
Missouri and Montana don’t have it yet. Arizona just introduced a
bill, Texas
passed one after a tragedy. That’s how we do things now.
There is no disagreement this can be dangerous, and has caused traffic
accidents
and fatalities. There should also be no disagreement that government has
no
legitimate delegated authority to enact such a law. The Constitution
forbids
it—“no law respecting freedom of speech.” Texting is
freedom of speech. If
someone has the power to ban this under one condition deemed problematic,
nothing stops banning it under some other condition deemed suitable.
“No law”
means no law for a reason.
For good measure, the Arizona bill bans reading and writing while driving
too.
This situation, if we still had values, would need to be handled with an
ad
campaign, marketing, social pressure, schooling, tech inside the device
and
other creative solutions. It can’t be handled by government edict,
that’s
banned.
If schools can teach and convince students they’re not male or female
(they’re
doing this you know) they could advise on texting behind the wheel. The new
law
doesn’t actually prevent anything, everyone knows that, it just makes
teens do
it below the dashboard, where visibility is even worse. And it provides a
$25
fine (BWAHAHAHAHAHA!) for a first offense, and then gets worse. Social
awareness would do a better job. And it would be legal.

Your article said the online report about McCain
resigning was dubious. You did not say why. Could you elaborate?
I
see his wife and daughter verbally disputed the report you called dubious,
without reasons. But since McCain apparently plans on living in Cornville
(according to his daughter according to your report), and not representing
the state by voting in Congress for as much as six months, what are all
your assertions based upon? Arizona is one Senator short.

of no Expo facto law shall be created. You are the only person I know of
that has said anything about this. I have been telling people about this
for years. but no one believes that it means, that what was legal Yesterday

was legal they could not pass a law and make it illegal for you to own it
tomorrow. Once again thank you.
And keep up the good work. --Lester

[Responding to his rep who publicly said the
CDC gun “research” ban was incomprehensible]: Do you really
find the CDC ban incomprehensible? Congress has kept it in place for two

our representative you should know them. Please expand your knowledge of
this, and let me know you understand. Would that be OK with you?" --Matt

place in the private sector. Where is there any legitimate delegated

things?

[Thank you Mike. You mean their scientific method didn’t
include the other side of the equation, the balancing benefits of
“gun liberty”?]
--
First, allow me to thank
you for your continued commitment to our rights and obviously, the 2nd
amendment specifically. Now, I have a question and you may or may not have
the answer, but you might know where to point me. As you know, there are
some entities that publish several legal self-defense gun use stories in
their monthly magazines. Obviously American Rifleman and the sister
publications of the NRA and Concealed Carry Magazine of USCCA. Now, do you
know of any place that compiles all the stories or links to the stories on
a national basis?
Obviously, one individual cannot possibly do a
nationwide search all the time trying to accomplish that, but are there
state organizations that publish those types of stories monthly? And not
just some, but all from that state. If that was available, it would be
possible for someone (retired, like myself) that could possibly link them
all in a database of sorts searchable by state, date, possibly type of
weapon used, outcome (perpetrators DOA, wounded, captured and held for
authorities, and escaped with police searching).
That could prove
invaluable in debunking the continual balderdash of the
leftist/socialist/progressives who continually claim no such thing happens.
It could also prove very valuable to legislators when they're considering
new laws to suppress our constitutional rights. Thanks in advance for your
great work. Sincerely, Phil W., San Antonio TX

from my collection:
I don't like statistical arguments in the struggle
for rights. Your rights should not be subject to cost-benefit analysis or
anything similar. It's explained at the link below. Both sides have
numbers. They don't match. Going down that path just leads to loud voices
and no resolution. The other side is unmoved by our stats, or even theirs,
really. Your rights are better defended and stand more properly on moral,
legal, logical, philosophical, historical, humanitarian, emotional,
ethical, judicial and religious grounds, or based upon civil rights and a
person's right-to-survive, than on fungible numbers manipulated to make
points and support
agendas.
https://www.gunlaws.com/faq.htm#howmany
That said,
some people are indeed swayed by numbers, and I suppose statistical
arguments do have their place, so if they work for you, prepare carefully
and use them as appropriate. Just be ready for sneak attacks, and being
caught unaware with mind-boggling figures that don't add up and you cannot
refute off the cuff, live on air. CNN and others have tried that on me, and
I have fought back with their own, "If it saves one life..." line of
reasoning, and more: https://www.gunlaws.com/HostileInterviews.htm. You can
also use the very effective redirect, by suggesting, "What you really need
to look at is, " and then asking or framing the argument that really
matters, and leaving their gotcha stat forgotten, in the
dust.

Friend responds to the
left’s conspicuous absence on important issues --
“But the
left does direct its fighting spirit against history and Confederate
statues, schools with the name of slave owners (including George Washington
and Thomas Jefferson), carbon emissions, income inequality,
"microaggressions," "white privilege," any limitation on abortion, Columbus
Day, "Islamophobia," Israeli settlements, "Russian collusion" and the like.
Against these minimal or nonexistent evils, the left is
ferocious.
That is why the left opposes enabling some teachers and
other adults in schools to carry arms in order to possibly stop a mass
murderer: The left doesn't fight evil; it fights those who do. Just as the
left hated anti-communists, hates opponents of Islamism and hates Israeli
Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (far more than the Iranian ayatollahs),
it hates those who wish to see teachers and others voluntarily armed take
down the murderers of our children.” -- Arch M.
