CORRECTION

I had noted that former president Clinton said, "Nobody’s seen a communist in over a decade!" in introducing Mr. Obama recently, a snub to those in Congress who are concerned with the communist and socialist sympathies of a significant number of members of Congress.* Though the audience of democrats screamed their approval, a quick check of, well, anything, showed Mr. Clinton must have been referring to a different planet. For example, I neglected to mention that Van Jones, a self-avowed communist, was removed from Mr. Obama's administration when his allegiance, and its high security risk, became known. I apologize for my sloppiness in not mentioning this. Jones was the green "czar," a whole 'nother issue, and he got past all the security screenings, if any, but let me not digress.

Public pressure helped force his removal, as if having an enemy of the state working for the president deep inside the government wasn't enough, but it does show public pressure can count. No charges have been brought, and in fact, Jones was a commentator for CNN during the democrats recent convention. The ethics of having a disgraced dismissed unindicted communist former environmental czar working as a news commentator on the public airwaves was not scheduled for debate on any of the major networks at press time. Stay tuned for further news.

I also neglected to mention that the Occupy private-property movement, which generally receives ongoing approvals from democrats, has the support of the communist party of the United States (CPUSA), which maintains recruitment booths at the occupations, along with various other splinter communist and socialist worker groups. Again, my apologies for the omissions, I'm only human.

Oh yes, and I forgot to mention that Sean Penn, a huge personal supporter of Mr. Clinton and Mr. Obama, bragged recently to socialist dictator Hugo Chavez in a face-to-face meeting, about how Penn had introduced his kids to communist dictator Fidel Castro, and posed for a photo with them. I regret omitting those communists in my coverage of Mr. Clinton's denial that communists exist, to the cheers of the democrats at the Obama rally.

*Frank Marshall Davis was a card-carry communist, on an FBI high-priority security watch list, and instrumental in raising young Mr. Obama, according to Obama's autobiography, but that was more than a decade ago, so it is communism too old to bring up. I also left out Obama's preferred marxist professors from his autobiography, also out of Clinton's time range so obviously not relevant. Bernie Sanders, a self-avowed socialist (communism "light") in Congress, could not be reached for comment. Barney Frank, another self-avowed socialist in Congress, famous for frequently asking, "What's wrong with socialism?" was also not reached before press time. The lamestream media continues to miss the story, to interview the communists and socialists in government about their beliefs, or keep the American public informed about the day-to-day workings and activities of the American communist party and its many splinter organizations.

The Wayback Machine

Janet Napolitano just got a mindless one-sided puff piece praising her
on page one of the local "state" newspaper -- which reminded me --

Back when Homeland Security chief Janet Napolitano was part of the gun-ban movement as Arizona's then-attorney-general, she was a keynote in a 2001 gun-ban rally falsely labelled a gun-safety rally at the main Phoenix library. Pro-rights people were not invited to the publicly funded affair with the Phoenix police chief and other politicos lined up against us -- a total slap in the face. Some of us got in anyway. It was an obnoxious guns-are-bad dog-and-pony show. Watcha gonna do?

We forced a pro-rights rally at the same venue, over their objections. Col. Jeff Cooper showed up and spoke, one of his last public appearances. He pointed out, and I'll never forget it, have quoted it many times, "A gun that's safe isn't worth anything." Second Amendment Foundation leader Alan Gottlieb was a sponsor. We produced a superb, in your face "New Age Gun Safety Manual" that details how bad the so-called "gun-control" movement is, and reached through the liberal mindset on gun issues:

When a mere five members of Congress pointed out the infiltration, the media -- and even their colleagues in Congress -- attacked the people ringing the alarm. Sep. 11 is a perfect time to recount and shine light on the progress of "the quiet jihad," being led by the Muslim Brotherhood. Despite "news" reports, this is not a group involved in bake sales. In other news, the Brotherhood has recently taken over Egypt, a former ally of the U.S. All part of what the media calls the Arab spring. More like springboard.

PARITY: The new watchword in gun-rights debates.

While anti-rights advocates are now arguing loudly for gear bans, and limiting public access to various tools of personal defense, police are increasingly militarized, and the balance of power is shifting decidedly in government's favor. This is not the equality between government and the governed the Founders envisioned. The goal for righteous gun law should be parity with the police, not second-class-citizen status. That is one basis upon which new gun legislation, if any, should be negotiated.

I survived a dust storm
(Arizonans have already seen this)




Driving home from the Crossroads of the West gun show in Phoenix,
I packed up in this storm with grit in my teeth, eyes and lungs.
It circled around town as I tried to get into my garage before it hit.




It was about as think and ugly as I've ever seen. Here it
is coming up on the Dreamy Draw Mountain Preserve as
I race up route 51. The edges were sharply defined and
visibility into it was absolute zero.




It was a wall of sand, roiling and churning its way across
the hilltops. It was coming at a right angle to me, if only
I could get down the road before it crossed my path.

So, here I am fooling around with a camera while driving
(you didn't think about that did you), at least I had a
point and shoot Canon, man are those things good.
Facing death by sandstorm, I flirted with death by
distracted driving.

Maybe we should ban this aspect of free speech along with
all the other proposals -- ban cell phones, texting, eating,
applying makeup, reading during the commute, enjoying
a cold one, you know, trade freedom for safety...

Sidestepping Congress which has refused to act reasonably on various amnesty plans proposed by Mr. Obama, the White House has implemented a program to allow certain undocumented immigrants stay in the country through a "non-amnesty" implemented by executive order, being called "deferred action." This allows youngsters brought into the country illegally by their parents to apply for waivers and attend college, since they were innocent victims of their parents illegal activity, and it's not fair to punish them for the acts of their parents. The program is good for two years, at least for now. Authorities are concerned that some illegals may try to use the plan to falsely get papers and become immune to deportation. About 1.75 million people are thought to be eligible for the non-amnesty-like scheme.

Arizona's Governor Jan Brewer has declared that the estimated 80,000 people illegally present in Arizona, who would be subject to Obama's executive order, should not be eligible for drivers licenses under Obama's plan, a touchy point to be contested by advocates for the illegals. If they do get licenses, it would be hard to keep them off the voter rolls, and you could have illegal aliens voting, presumably for the person who invented the plan that got them the vote, tipping the scale in Obama's favor, a neat election year stunt. This would not count as vote fraud, which the lamestream has declared is rare. The Maricopa Community Colleges, known to be left-leaning institutions, want to give the illegals in-state tuition rates, about three times lower than normal, which even American citizens from around the country cannot get. How that might be fair to real Americans was unknown at press time.

Of perhaps even greater concern, by declaring these people to be here legally, they might no longer be prohibited possessors under federal gun law:

No one seems to have taken notice of this unintended consequence, but since it is only less than two million non citizens it probably doesn't matter much, according to unnamed federal authorities who were not reached for this report.

NBC News is reporting that American politics has reached a milestone. Spending on the 2012 presidential campaign for broadcast radio and TV has surpassed a half billion dollars, and that was before Labor Day, according to Brian Williams. That is greater than the entire cost of the campaign in 2008. The implication is that money is ruling politics and that is not a good thing.

Missing from NBC's report is who GETS the money. NBC does, along with their other media colleagues. The broadcast media and certain other First Amendment industrial-strength institutions now rely on huge political-system contributions to keep their books in the black. What do you make of the incest in that? That money comes in large measure from extremely wealthy people and companies on all sides of the aisle, which all sides of the aisle accuse the others of using.

This may help explain why broadcast "news" is a virtual wasteland of tired reporting that floats mindless coverage of where candidates are and what mud they are slinging at each other on a daily basis, instead of any substantive reporting on who these people are, what they stand for, and how much knowledge they have of actual issues or what they would do if elected. A tiny handful of repetitive topics displaces any discussion of the hundreds of meaningful subjects facing the nation.

"An elderly Canadian couple owns a townhouse on my street in Scottsdale, Ariz., and uses it for a winter residence.  As I was standing in my driveway recently on a 109-degree day, a woman I didn't recognize came out of the house, walked over, and introduced herself as the daughter of the couple.  The forty-something woman was staying at the house with her younger brother, who was recuperating from having half his nose removed in cancer surgery at a local hospital.

"After commiserating with the woman, I asked why he didn't have the surgery in his native country of Canada.  She said that because of the long wait times for diagnosis and treatment in Canada, the cancer wasn't diagnosed in time to avoid the gruesome surgery and would have spread and killed him if he had waited for treatment at home.   It was better to pay for the surgery out of their own pockets, she said, than take a chance in their home country.

"When I expressed shock over this, she shocked me even more with what she said next.  With a shrug of the shoulders, she said, 'Oh well, at least everyone has health insurance in Canada.'

Just 61 bills have become law to date in 2012 out of 3,914 bills that have been introduced by lawmakers, or less than 2 percent of all proposed laws, according to a USA Today analysis of records since 1947 kept by the U.S. House Clerk's office.

These statistics make the 112th Congress, covering 2011-12, the least productive two-year gathering on Capitol Hill since the end of World War II. Not even the 80th Congress, which President Harry S. Truman called the "do-nothing Congress" in 1948, passed as few laws as the current one, records show.

Ignoring the unmitigated statist big-government approach of the lamestream media, people everywhere were celebrating the word that Congress has burdened the public with the fewest new laws in decades. "The size of government can be directly measured by the numbers of laws it passes," said The Uninvited Ombudsman, in a press conference attended by no one. "When we the people say, 'Just leave us alone,' or 'Spend less money, live within your means, stop taking actions you're not authorized by the Constitution to take,' that translates into passing fewer laws," he said. Every new law brings with it regulators, bureaucrats, lawyers, administrators, accountants and enforcers to make it happen, growing government.

Hoping that the laws on the books might actually shrink is just wishful thinking he said, but we can hope for change. No repeals have passed, as far as records show. Calls to include expiration dates on all new laws have gone nowhere. The "news" media was not reached for comment.

The UN Arms Trade Treaty ended in failure, as the parties could not reach agreement before their self-imposed deadline. A dull sentiment of remorse fell over the conference as high hopes for an agreement ended dashed. Both Hillary and Barack withdrew their support in the eleventh hour when it became apparent the agreement would not be finalized. The Huffington Post blamed the Obama administration for the failure, and also the NRA which it said spread "lies"; USA Today blamed it on the U.S., Russia and China, who asked for more time to review the draft.

The first draft of the current effort at a UN Arms Trade Treaty was a smashing success after nearly six years of effort and a solid month of direct negotiations in New York at UN headquarters. It yielded a draft proposal with many of the most difficult terms and conditions hammered out in grueling sessions with all major parties and 170 nations represented.

This is how a treaty like this gets enacted. In fits and starts. Ideas come together over a period of years, and are gtahered in drafts and proposals like this one. We can now see how everyone is thinking -- and it is not in defense of our rights. Ostensibly, the treaty is about international arms trade, but functionally, it attempts to regulate arms from top to bottom.

No one who really understands the situation seriously expected a final document to come out of these first round negotiations. Media reports however did carefully lead the uninformed public into holding out false hope for such a result, leading to a widespread sense of failure. This will help boost public support when the next effort seems to magically spring forth.

Failure was not the case however, as the positions staked out by the pro-rights and anti-rights factions became well known, and the main actors left understanding clearly where the next round of negotiations would have to go to reach an executable document.

The U.S State Dept. issued a statement with spokespersonwoman Vic Nuland's name on it that said the U.S. supports a second round of negotiations next year. "While we sought to conclude the month's negotiations with a treaty, more time is a reasonable request for such a complex and critical issue," the statement said," according to USA Today.

The British foreign secretary, a man, William Hague, according to the British "news" service The Guardian, said, "We have made huge progress. The chair's draft treaty has our full support as well as that of the great majority of other states. But to be fully effective, the treaty will need very broad – ideally universal – participation. It is clear that more time is needed to reach the widest possible agreement."

I've read the thing cover to cover and outlined it in a general way below, since it wasn't formally adopted. So much of the content is loose and broadly interpretable in unexpected ways that the document must be dead on arrival. If they even dreamed of enacting such sweeping language without controls, the grant of power to do virtually anything regarding guns would be absolutely dictatorial. They can't possibly intend to do that, can they? The potential for harm to the health and sovereignty of our nation (or any nation) is so great, no freedom-oriented American could support it. But that is the draft they came up with. I linked to a copy at the end of the analysis.

All that's left is to hold Mr. Obama, Hillary and others responsible for supporting it in the first place. Their loudly announced backing for the treaty shows their true (often hidden) colors, and their repeated tale that it would not impact gun owners, is exposed as a lie. They will erase the Second Amendment if they can, and lie about it while they're acting.

The Guardian opined that, "This leaves the door open for further talks and a draft arms trade treaty could be brought to the 193-nation United Nations general assembly and adopted with a two-thirds majority vote. Diplomats said there could be a vote by the end of the year." The Uninvited Ombudsman suspects that will hinge largely on the results of the U.S. elections in November.


Key Elements of the Draft Treaty

1. The treaty makes it clear that it recognizes, and that nothing in the treaty can interfere with, a nation's right to self defense. This is one of the most dangerous aspects of the entire deal, because it refuses to recognize any element of personal self defense. Like the UN's so-called charter of human rights, the international body has no place in its framework for people defending themselves. Given that governments are the main perpetrators of violence in the world, this is a travesty beyond measure, but the 170 nations involved are all comfortable with the plan. The nation can defend itself, but you cannot. Be afraid. Be very afraid.

2. The whole focus of the draft is to control arms for what it calls authorized and unauthorized users and also end users, which it does not define or attempt to define. This is literally carte blanche to justify any law making a nation could want for gun control. And the treaty is not written like law -- it leaves almost everything up to the nation-states who agree to cooperate. What are the chances that people at mortal peril from their own "authorities" will be authorized users of arms, especially in nations where they have no right to arms in the first place? Some of the greatest abusers of human rights sit on the human rights council of the UN, so hope for an equitable outcome here are hopelessly remote. Because you have no vote, no elected representatives and no voice at the UN, chances for change to anything adopted here are zero.

3. Part of the plan is to track all arms, ammunition and parts from manufacture to disposal, through a regulatory system which is undefined. A special UN agency (the "Implementation Support Unit" with a budget, staff, reporting, etc.) will be created to do this, pulling the entire gun industry globally under its watch. Sweet, huh? It would be voluntary to start of course, because they recognize no one would cooperate otherwise (and probably won't then either, but that's how you get the camel's nose under the tent, and start building a bureaucracy). This could eventually make possession of even small amounts of ammunition subject to burdensome government regulation beyond anything the worst gun-rights haters in Congress even dream about. The next treaty draft, now being dreamed up in deep dark corners of UN imaginations, will take this further.

4. There is not a single word designed to protect personal gun ownership, any individual rights, promote or encourage proper firearm use, provide accountability for governments that abuse people's rights, or authorize people's use of arms against governments that use arms to commit armed atrocities against their own people, although none of that is a purpose of this treaty. Typical of the UN this is about empowering government, and has virtually nothing to do with empowering the people or balancing power. That's their way.

5. The treaty in its preamble does recognize "lawful private ownership and use of conventional arms" for "recreational, cultural, historical and sporting activities for States where such ownership and use are permitted or protected by law." It does not include crime prevention, personal defense or resistance to tyranny (though it does say 'among other things', in Latin). Early talk that it would only include military weapons was false, "small arms and light weapons" are part of the package, and nations must maintain and publish a list of all such goods.

6. This is the really scary part -- the way they're thinking. Article 6 -- they do make noise that it only pertains to international action, but there are holes you could drive a supply train through:

"Each State Party shall take all appropriate legislative and administrative measures necessary to implement the provisions of this Treaty and designate competent national authorities in order to have an effective, transparent and predictable national control system regulating the transfer of conventional arms."

That's what the "news" media means when they say the treaty is dead.

The virtual news blackout on the cable and network news channels continued unabated this month right up to and even after the party conventions, as the public anxiously awaits the national elections in hopes that news will reappear after the election results are in, a few minutes after the polls close on Nov. 6. "It is stunning how little reporting the 'reporters' are reporting," said one commentator, on condition of anonymity, for fear of losing his or her job. "You would think all other news in the nation and world has stopped, and there is only room for rumor and vapid gossip about candidates on evening 'news' broadcasts."

It is a virtual vacuum, hour after hour, with virtually no substance, and not even new gossip making it past the editors and onto the screens of the few hundred viewers still turning on their sets in hopes of hearing anything of substance.

Do you know how to watch the "B" roll on TV "news" shows? Turn off the sound and just watch the background images for a few minutes. That's the B roll. They run all sorts of things to color the words, and influence your thinking. Notice how it's not even fresh and new but keeps repeating. Turn the sound back on and now compare the B roll to what they're saying. Eye opening, eh? That goes for the background swirly patterns too.

The National Shooting Sports Foundation (NSSF.org), the trade association for the firearms, ammunition, hunting and shooting sports industry, released a specially commissioned report detailing double-digit gains in jobs and other data showing the industry has been a leader in the nation's economic recovery. Firearms industry members were briefed on the remarkable statistics, such as a 30.6% increase in jobs between 2008 and 2011 (from 75,600 to 98,750), a 66.5% increase in economic impact (from $19.1 billion to $31.8 billion) and a 66.5% increase in federal taxes paid by industry companies (from $1.5 billion to $2.5 billion, and similar growth in state and excise taxes).

"During difficult economic times and high unemployment rates nationally, our industry actually grew and created more than ten thousand new, well-paying jobs," said NSSF President Steve Sanetti. "Our industry is proud to be one of the bright spots in this economy." The lamestream media didn't get the memo, missed the briefing, and failed to report the good news, for reasons that were unclear at press time.

but the portion that remains fairly represents my views.
Unfortunately, some of the best and most compelling arguments are
missing from this online version, why would they do that I wonder.
Will they have me back? At the end they congratulate themselves.
