I've created a special feature for the print media and broadcasters ("Page Nine" regardless of where or when it runs), that covers stories afresh, not the way news rooms typically flavor things. It would help reduce the distrust so many news consumers feel and could be the most avidly followed item you carry -- if you carry it. It certainly is well received by my audience.
This casual sample might make you say, "We'll NEVER run that!" but Page Nine is being built around ad revenues from clear-thinking mainstream businesses.

STARTERS:
Are we better off with a democracy or a republic? Dispel any confusion with the tightest lesson on what keeps us free I've seen: http://www.wimp.com/thegovernment/
The NRA Annual Convention will be in my home town this year, Phoenix, May 14-17. They expect 60,000 interesting people and scores of leaders of the pro-rights movement. You should plan to hang out with these people -- your compatriots -- no matter how you feel about "lobbies" per se, and push the attendance to 120,000, wouldn't THAT send a message. Join me there. http://www.nraam.org
Preliminary suggestions from the Committee for the Bill of Rights include: 1-Change hearts and minds; 2. For every proposed bill ask, "Does it maximize freedom?"; 3. Draw a Tenth Amendment line in the sand; 4. Support the Second Amendment March on Washington D.C. in 2010. 5. Define our problems in ways that can be resolved. Read more: https://www.gunlaws.com/BOR-CommitteeReport1.htm
CORRECTIONS:
"You should note that over 300 real economists, including at least 3 Nobel Laureates, have signed a petition opposing the so-called 'stimulus bill.'" The "news" failed to mention this fact in their aggrandizing promotion of the Obama pork package, but the Cato Institute bought full-page ads nationwide to expose this truth. Thanks to Lawrence Southwick, one of the 300, for bringing this to my attention, and my apologies for not mentioning it in the last posting. http://www.cato.org/fiscalreality. The "news" media blacked out the news, but took the money to run the ads.
It should also be noted that the president pressed every member of Congress to sign 800 pages of new law before they could even see it, let alone read it. That's malfeasance, and grounds for removal from office, of every signatory and the promoter. In D.C., this is called open government and transparency. Out here it's known as arrogance and disgracefulness.
I mistakenly said we need a gun-law book for North Carolina, but as several readers noted, we already have one, and it's a brand new second edition. D'oh. https://www.gunlaws.com/books2.htm
One anonymous correspondent points out, correctly, states have not enacted 10th Amendment legal protections, or asserted their sovereignty, they have only introduced non-binding resolutions regarding those issues. It's good that they are raising this awareness, but pretty spineless that they haven't demanded their legitimate place with respect to federal authorities. My apologies if anyone was misled, and my encouragement to you to tell your state representatives to develop some backbone. Only seven states have introduced such resolutions, though all 50 have more than enough cause to do so.
--------
1- Gun Ban Announced
The lamestream media told you:
"The Obama administration will seek to reinstate the assault weapons ban that expired in 2004 during the Bush administration, Attorney General Eric Holder said today," according to ABC News on Wed., Feb. 25. http://tinyurl.com/acoxa4
"As President Obama indicated during the campaign, there are just a few gun-related changes that we would like to make," he said, adding it would have a "positive impact" on drug lords running wild in Mexico, tying the proposal to 700 people recently arrested as drug-war combatants.
A connection between mass arrests that have taken place, and a law not on the books yet is illogical, but ABC ran this "news" item anyway. Many people will be led to believe the unrelated facts are somehow connected, since they went to government schools and cannot think straight.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The nation is now screaming about Eric Holder's off-handed remark about renewing Bill Clinton's restrictions on so-called "assault" weapons. New bills waiting in the wings go way past anything Clinton envisioned in his failed ban. The most recent list is here: https://www.gunlaws.com/GunLawUpdate3.htm
When I spoke with Paul Helmke, president of the Brady Campaign at the New York Bar Assn. back in Dec., he admitted that they haven't been able to go after criminals effectively, so they figure their only option is to go after guns. This is Brady's fatal flaw.
The New York Times, which repeatedly extolled the Brady-backed gun infringement during its 10-year lifespan, wrote in a rare moment of candor, after the bill expired that it, "has not caused any noticeable increase in gun crime in the past seven months," and that the government-assaulted private firearms "were never used in many gun crimes." It was a feel-good do-nothing burden on we the people. "The dire predictions that the streets would be awash in military-style guns," when the restriction ended was false, a fact gun owners knew the entire time. That was as close as the Times came to a correction for ten years of deception and gun-rights hatred. http://tinyurl.com/bbfupx
The public needs to tell Congress, "Focus on criminals, NOT property." If Congress goes after a normal modern household rifle like the AR-15, they hurt the voters, not the criminals. Congress should aggressively assault criminal misuse of ANY firearm, not the firearms themselves, and especially not guns the public holds, which is infringement and flatly prohibited. "Focus on criminals, NOT property." Arrest another 700 drug warriors, or even declare a truce in the war on some drugs and just abandon the hostilities.
Assault is a type of behavior, not a type of hardware. The term assault weapon, invented by the Brady Campaign, is a smokescreen, routinely spread by the media, to denigrate firearms and the great American traditions that have kept this nation free.
If the media, the politicians and the people go after criminal activity, we will rise up as one against a scourge we all face. If the media and the politicians go after our property, they will face a firestorm of hostile resistance, as they should, for violating the Bill of Rights and attempting to deny freedoms we already possess and hold dear. If they do that in the name of stopping crime, they are bald faced liars, we will know it, and it will not be tolerated.
--------
2- Affordable Rifle Ban
The lamestream media told you:
Nothing.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Affordable rifles imported from former Eastern bloc countries including Romania, Bulgaria, the former Yugoslavia and elsewhere would be banned from entering the U.S. if a N.Y congressman has his way, hurting those nation's economies and denying affordable long guns to American consumers. http://tinyurl.com/aneexf
Congressman Eliot Engel, Chairman of the House Foreign Affairs Subcommittee on the Western Hemisphere, wrote a letter signed by 53 members of Congress urging president Obama to "return to enforcement of the law banning imports of assault weapons, which was previously enforced under presidents George H.W. Bush and Bill Clinton." The firearms he denigrates with the Brady-inspired "assault" word are single-shot-at-a-time rifles like any normal household firearm.
The congressman's media release about his letter uses the tired tirade about this being a "no-brainer... requiring no legislative action," to "protect our brave police," and a "market flooded with imported, inexpensive, military-style 'assault' weapons." He fails to note that assault is a type of behavior, not an imported product.
The public is able to get the fine value-priced merchandise as kits, parts imports, reassembled models with some American-made parts, and as curios and relics. Criminals found with the firearms, which even the New York Times has said are bulky and unpopular with street gangs, are subject to immediate arrest and imprisonment -- completely apart from gun type or nation of manufacture.
Part of a larger racist scheme to ban guns for anyone but the rich, it is a new twist on the discredited and now abandoned "Saturday Night Special" schemes (remember those?), and "junk gun" schemes (remember those?) that would outlaw firearms in poverty-stricken neighborhoods, largely populated with people of color, where they really need the guns for self defense and protection against rampant government-sponsored crime from its war on some drugs.
--------
3- Heller Case Working
The lamestream media told you:
Nothing.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The Heller case at the U.S. Supreme Court, which established that the right to keep and bear arms is a "specific enumerated right" and protected for individuals, has produced a court result overturning a federal statute. It is believed to be the first such lower-court holding.
U.S. v. Arzberger concerns part of 18 U.S.C. §3142(c)(1)(B), which requires that when someone is charged with possessing child pornography (among other crimes) and is freed on bail, the right to possess any firearm is removed.
Magistrate Judge James C. Francis IV (Southern District of New York) wrote in his opinion, "although the Supreme Court has indicated that this privilege may be withdrawn from some groups of persons such as convicted felons, there is no basis for categorically depriving persons who are merely accused of certain crimes of the right to legal possession of a firearm."
Several other cases, where hardened criminals tried to squirm out of just punishment using Heller as a shield have failed, proving that Heller is not a get-out-of-jail-free card as some "news" groups have suggested, and that legitimate laws attacking truly criminal behavior are constitutional and proper.
--------
4- Earmark Ban Fails
The lamestream media told you:
Obama's policies are exactly what the country needs. He "proposed a $175 billion plan with tax-rebate checks for consumers as well as spending," http://tinyurl.com/cn3e6q
in his superb campaign, as well as the much needed promise that, "We are going to ban all earmarks -- the process by which individual members insert pet projects without review. We're not having earmarks in the recovery package. Period." http://tinyurl.com/8ytne5. He also made it clear that the bill will set a "new higher standard of accountability, transparency and oversight." It's no wonder he got elected with principles like that.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Obama's pork package, euphemistically called a "stimulus, recovery, bailout or economic-rescue package" by the "news" media now, is nearly five times more expensive than what he got elected for, contains no tax-rebate checks, and is packed wall-to-wall with earmarks, special interest spending, review-free additions and unconstitutional programs and spending, all added without floor debate or legitimate representation for the taxpayers. The work was done in closed rooms by federal clerks, in conference with their superiors.
The lamestream media could not be reached for a correction. Lying on a campaign to get elected is not currently a crime, and people have short memories.
--------
5- Ammunition Scarce Somewheres
The lamestream media told you:
The economy is hopelessly bad.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Greg D., an average Joe and friend on the east cost reports: "Funny story (sad really), we have been trying to buy extra .380 here in SC and also in GA and it is non-existent. Everyone who carries is stocking up. But I was in Maryland -- where no one but a friend of the governor can carry, and the shelves were full." According to anonymous economists, this is caused by the law of supply and demand. Knowledgeable insiders report that president Obama is trying to repeal that law.
Frank Lucero in Arizona, while speaking with Glock on a business matter, was told they are running three shifts and are a half million guns behind. Similar reports have filtered in from gun and ammo makers everywhere.
--------
6- Swimmer Dunks AP
The lamestream media told you:
Jennifer Figge, a 56-year-old female became the first woman to swim the Atlantic Ocean, battling 30-foot waves, eating 8,000 calories a day, fulfilling a dream she's had since the 1960s, missing her dog back in Colo., in 25 days, swimming between 21 minutes and eight hours per day, according to the widely circulated and unquestioned Associated Press. http://tinyurl.com/dkaj3j
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Proving once again that the Associated Press will print almost anything it is handed without applying any scrutiny, journalistic integrity or doing the slightest bit of investigation, the global "news" agency reported the flatly impossible unsubstantiated claim that a woman swam across the Atlantic Ocean, about 2,100 miles, in 25 days.
Using an olden investigative tool called a "calculator," at the claimed eight hours a day, she would need to swim 84 miles per day at 10.5 miles per hour. The world record for the 50-meter dash in a pool works out to only 11.5 miles per hour. Gold medalist Michael Phelps, at his fastest, could make it in 21 days, but only if he swam 24-hours-per-day without any breaks.
Finally recognizing the abject stupidity of that report, the AP days later, without issuing a correction, or admitting it had been duped, or fessing up to empty-headed stupidity, or apologizing for a gross lapse in judgment or ethics, and failing to acknowledge it routinely follows this as SOP and regurgitates any vile hoax or lies it is handed, questioned its report in the same way any half-brained reader could on first reading the idiotic drivel it had propagated to the public.
They wrote, without using the word "error" or "correction," that the woman swam only 250 miles (a guess actually), and traveled the rest of the distance on a boat. Traveling by boat is not considered swimming, even though both are done in water.
Ms. Figge's press agent was not identified, but is believed to be delighted with all the ink she got. People worldwide found the original story "wonderful" and "inspirational," even though it was a total AP perpetrated hoax, similar to U.S. election coverage.
Meanwhile, countless people who during the same period defended their lives with firearms, and used guns to prevent crimes or dispatch violent criminals committing felonies, were not mentioned.
--------
7- Nation of Cowards
The lamestream media told you:
Eric Holder, president Obama's fine selection for attorney general and the first African American to hold the office, has called America a nation of cowards for generally refusing to discuss race.
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
"Nation of Cowards" is an extremely fine book by attorney Jeff Snyder. It is one of the best examinations ever written on self defense and the morality, logic, principles and necessity of being responsible for your own life and its protection. The book gives you chills with its clear denunciation of anyone who would encourage you to abandon that responsibility, even if they believe they are doing good. They are the worst kind of cowards and represent the opposite of American values. https://www.gunlaws.com/books4.htm
As far as race goes, Americans generally are reluctant to publicly discuss "race" (a code word for talking about blacks) because if they do, they are called racists by the people they are talking about. Talking about Asians, Italians, Greeks, Mexicans and other people of varying colors and nationality does not bring on the hate-filled attacks from America's black celebrity racist hate mongers such as Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson, which everyone (except black people) seek to avoid.
A true discussion of race would have to address inherent and genetic superiority (and inferiority) of various groups, seen visibly, for example, in the disproportionate representation of blacks in basketball and football. No multicult calls for diversity have been heard to remedy the grotesque under-representation of whites in those sports where black superiority is self evident. And a discussion of differences in intellect is so sensitive I won't even mention it, though two Harvard professors examined it in scholarly detail in the best selling book, The Bell Curve. They came to the unstartling conclusion that intelligence is not even distributed across humanity's races.
Racism. n. A false charge, of devastating power, that can be brought against a person without cause, especially when no real charges are available, to gain advantage in a debate. See also, Political Correctness.
Anyone who attacks the Uninvited Ombudsman for this carefully reasoned report is defeating our black Attorney General's righteous effort to get this important constitutionally protected free-speech dialog moving.
--------
8- "Stimulus" Oversight Implausible
The lamestream media told you:
President Obama has turned to his own vice president to oversee implementation of the $787 billion economic stimulus package. Obama also appointed Earl Devaney, the inspector general (IG) at the Interior Dept. and a one-time cop and former Secret Service agent, to serve as watchdog for the distribution of the funding. The president intends to make sure the funding goes where it is supposed to go. http://tinyurl.com/df7c76
Unreported by the lamestream but quoted at FederalTimes.com, Devaney said, "If I saw an IG coming down the hallway, I'd duck in the men's room. I believed that no good conversation could be held with an IG. I felt that way until the day I became one," he said with a chuckle. "Of course, I feel differently now. I try not to chase people into the bathroom, but quite frankly, they do go in."
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
Most intelligent Americans have some trouble monitoring and balancing a single checkbook with less than five-figure money in it. It is incomprehensible that they could simultaneously manage 100 such checkbooks, yet this is the type of task we're asking two government workers to do for us, except this example is way small.
Arizona, for instance, a large state with a small population (5 million) has 743 tasks ready for "stimulus" money. That's 743 checkbooks, each one for millions not thousands of dollars, and it's only one state. "Can you imagine the size of the staff, and cost, it would take to really watch that?" one observer asks. "It's impossible," he went on to say, "because there aren't enough accountants in the nation, and there's no plan, or money, to hire them with. Obama's hired two people who already have jobs under him."
Ten million dollars, a modest-sized project in government terms, would be equal to managing 1,000 household-sized bank accounts like the public is generally familiar with. Why Obama picked a cop and a politician to manage the money instead of accountants was unclear at press time. With some individual projects in the hundreds of millions or billions of dollars, the idea that "smaller" projects would get any oversight at all was unfathomable. "There aren't enough jail cells in America to hold all the people who will get money leaking out of this plan," one unidentified accountant said.
In a moment of unusual candor, the Obama cheerleading squad at the Washington Post observed that the package, "has raised serious questions about the ability of our federal government to fulfill its basic duties, and will require more than just the close scrutiny promised by the Obama administration."
The scrutiny, you may recall, was promised live on TV by Obama hisself, not some faceless and unaccountable "administration" as the Post mistakenly reports, in an apparent attempt to provide cover for their American idol when the plan eventually explodes. The location (not accounting, but location) of hundreds of billions already given out to banks and car makers is unknown, but the recipients are back asking for more. Biden and Devaney could not be reached for comment.
Continuing, the Post says, "Hardly a day goes by without a headline disclosing the failure of a federal agency to carry out its mission because it is short-staffed, under-resourced and ill-equipped, or poorly managed. These are conditions that will inevitably worsen as the government is asked to dispense billions of dollars in stimulus money as quickly as possible." http://tinyurl.com/c8tmrq
Responding to the government hubris and known ineptitude, we the people have rallied around StimulusWatch, a new wiki resource that will allow the public to do what government promises clearly cannot -- watch each commitment of the giveaway plan. Be sure to turn up your lithium drip before looking at the site so you don't pass out from the sheer size, then hone in on your state or your area of interest, and watch your money fly down the rabbit hole. http://www.stimuluswatch.org. No arrests are expected.
--------
9- Don't Say Terrorism
The lamestream media told you:
"Janet Napolitano is the first homeland security secretary to drop the term 'terror' and 'vulnerability' from remarks prepared for delivery to the House Homeland Security Committee, according to a copy obtained by The Associated Press. Napolitano's prepared remarks also show her using the word 'attacks' less than her predecessors." http://www.azstarnet.com/news/281652
The Uninvited Ombudsman notes however that:
The lengthy AP report, while describing carefully what Napolitano did not say, failed to include any mention of what she did say, a surprising twist and a new low in "news" reporting, which has been characterized as Orwellian by pundits and skeptics alike.
The public meanwhile is quite concerned about terrorism, or more accurately global Islamist jihad (terms long ago abandoned by government officials and "news" reporters) but may have been lulled into sleep by seven consecutive years without a single Islamist jihadi attack on American soil. Dozens of attempted attacks have been foiled here under the Bush administration, and by putting potential perpetrators to death while they were training overseas, despite objections from the ACLU and others.
Former president Bush, savagely attacked on every front by the lamestream media, may well be remembered in history as an exceptional commander-in-chief for his strategies that infallibly prevented attacks in the U.S., while Muslim fanatics elsewhere rampaged, exploded, beheaded, tortured (real torture with maiming and amputations, not the get-wet interrogations used by U.S. forces), abducted, stole and sabotaged worldwide in pursuit of their goal of global Islamic domination, a term not used in the "news," because it is seen as insensitive.
Some American critics insist that wet interrogation techniques should be considered torture, while many others emphatically disagree. This has prompted the Uninvited Ombudsman to observe that, "We clearly need another word besides "torture" to distinguish between intense questioning for vital security intel that will save countless lives and that leaves you intact, and overt sadistic brutality that leaves you without body parts, burned, disfigured, castrated, blinded, skinned, with broken bones, scared for life or dead, with your family."

Great work Alan! Your information is starting to give me some sense of hope and direction. I want to do something and I am starting to get an idea of what will be required. --Steve M.
I love your Page Nine report... First time reading it. It only speaks the horrifying truth that the liberal bleeding heart pansies do not want us to find out... Anyway, keep up the good work and I'm glad that there is such a distinguished and intelligent voice such as yourself removing the light shading and the distractions from the magicians' act (the US Government). I look forward to reading the upcoming issues. --Kent B.
The information that you post is particularly important because you write about local issues as well as national ones. All action begins at the local level, and your writing has been immensely important to me. I met you about a year ago at a Crossroads Gun show, I bought some of your books. You suggested the Goldwater Institute as a good resource to get involved with. I did, and I'm thankful for your suggestion. Anyway, thanks for your service to liberty. Roger M.
