OBAMA PRAISES McCAIN’S GUN SHOW BAN
In his town-hall gun-control show, Obama praised John McCain’s gun-show “loophole” bill as a good place to start, and scolded Congress for not passing it -- 15 years ago. The bill was total deception and would have effectively closed gun shows altogether. Obama singled out the Manchin-Toomey gun-control bill as a good bill that should have been enacted. THE “BITS” MYTH
My ongoing series about gun myths invented by progressives, out of psychological terrors that drive them, focuses here on the BITS myth, “Blood In The Streets.” It is at the root of most of the rest. Many liberals' mental state is so fragile if they had guns they might be tempted to snap and start senselessly shooting people nearby. THE NO-FLY LIE MUST DIE
Are people on the no-fly list so dangerous they can walk past airport checkpoints with guns, knives and bombs because the scanners don't work on them? That's why we need the list? Are the checkpoints just there to keep us in line? But wait -- those people can still take Amtrak to Cincinnati, or drive, bus or walk, they're free to roam anywhere because they're not charged with anything. Or convicted of anything. They just can't fly. You get on the list in secret, without rules. And now Obama wants to ban you from gun ownership based on this list. If you object, he says "that's insane" (his words). GUN MYTHS: INVISIBLE GUNS AND “UNCOMMON” SELF DEFENSE
Of all the preposterous nonsense anti-gun-rights people have concocted, “invisible” x-ray-proof guns may be the most bizarre. They did this when the superb Glock safe-action pistol was introduced, and became the choice of police departments worldwide. Easily spotted at airport checkpoints, their fears were baseless, but they once again interfered with reality. GUN MYTHS: THE “EVIL” GUN LOBBY AND GUN “BUY BACKS”
To believe the media narrative you’d think the NRA is more powerful than the top 50 real power lobbies, like banks, drug makers, import-export, telecom, computers, railroads, automakers, retail, lawyers and the rest. It's not even just the NRA, it’s the 100 million gun owners who cling to their guns and rights. SCOTUS GAY MARRIAGE QUESTION SOLVED
This was my first column for Townhall.com. It got me on their roster with Thomas Sowell, Hugh Hewitt, Dennis Prager, Michelle Malkin, Ann Coulter and more. My concern, ahead of the Supreme Court’s 2015 decision on gay marriage, was that it could plunge us deeper into a mess that has already caused grave harm to the nation. WHY THE NO-FLY LIE MUST DIE
Obama says on TV it is "insane" for a person on the no-fly list to walk into a store and buy a gun. Democrats in his audience cheer wildly, while "news" media remains ominously silent. People on the list aren't charged with anything, convicted of nothing, are put on the list secretly by police (a secret police list!) with no rules for how you get on, no notification until you can't fly, but you can still travel any other way -- it is completely arbitrary. The man whose oath to preserve, protect and defend the Constitution wants to take your gun rights by simply adding you to a list. Are those people so dangerous airport scanners don't work on them? The whole thing is beyond outrageous, but his side is cheering, and Townhall blows up the scheme, the details will blow your mind.
